1945

Founded in a Garage

Ruth and Elliot Handler, along with Harold Matson, started Mattel in a Southern California garage.

1959

Barbie is Born

Ruth Handler introduced Barbie at the American Toy Fair in New York, changing the toy industry forever.

1968

Hot Wheels Launches
